Metalock Brasil was called in to repair a vertical lathe cross-member belonging to a heavy industrial steel mill.<\/p>\n
To better identify the damage, Metalock Brasil\u2019s technicians carried out a dye-penetrant liquid test. This technique allowed the identification of a crack measuring 2,100mm at one end of the crosspiece. Because this involved a large cast iron piece of equipment, the only effective repair solution was the Metalock\u00ae Cold Stitching Process.<\/p>\n
During the repair, 14 Masterlock reinforcements, made by Metalock Brasil themselves, were applied and inserted perpendicular to the cracked regions, as well as the keys, made of special material. Screw studs were also applied throughout the region.<\/p>\n
The entire repair process was performed at the main Metalock Brasil workshops in Santos.<\/p>\n
