Metalock Brasil has successfully completed another project for the Marine sector, showcasing its expertise in high-precision maintenance and repair services. The intervention took place at Renave Shipyard, located in Niter\u00f3i, Rio de Janeiro, where the Metalock team executed the alignment of the shaft line and repairs on the propeller shaft of a fishing vessel.<\/p>\n
The specialized team from Metalock Brasil performed the alignment verification of the shaft line using laser technology, ensuring high precision and contributing to the vessel’s operational efficiency.<\/p>\n
Subsequently, the propeller shaft was transported to Metalock’s facilities in their Rio de Janeiro branch, where it was placed on a horizontal lathe for checking deflection and removing the forward and aft sleeves through machining, due to the identified wear.<\/p>\n
The new sleeves provided by the shipowner were machined and installed using thermal blankets and controlled temperature electric resistances. After installation, they were machined to meet standard measurements. Upon completion of the service, the shaft was transported back to the shipyard, where the final assembly was performed by the shipyard team.<\/p>\n
The propeller shaft features a flange with a diameter of 810mm and a length of 6,800mm.<\/p>\n
The thermal blanket used ensured precise temperature control during the sleeve installation.<\/p>\n
