In 2020, the ISES (International Ship Engineering Service Association) held its annual conference virtually through Zoom, due to the restrictions of the coronavirus pandemic. The meeting brought together eighteen companies, from different countries, and Metalock Brasil participated in the meeting, as it represents Brazil. New members were introduced, and internal administrative matters were dealt with.
ISES holds their General Assembly and Conference on an annual basis, lasting three days and which usually takes place in an important city central to Maritime affairs. At the event there are numerous lectures by experts and naval authorities who address new technologies and regulations. In addition, a summary of the Association’s events in the previous year is presented, the finances and, most importantly, several brainstorming sessions take place, in order to explore any new developments and opportunities in the maritime shipping maintenance branches.
In 2021, ISES intends to hold the conference at the end of April, in Antwerp, a city in Belgium, where the convention should have taken place this year.
